MKCVYS
Milton Keynes Council for Voluntary Youth Services is the co-ordinating body for voluntary and community youth organisations in Milton Keynes. It gives support in the areas of policy and practice development and strives to ensure that the work of these organisations, for the benefit of young people, achieves the recognition and support it deserves.
Our Aims
To provide a comprehensive service to support voluntary and community groups working with young people in Milton Keynes, and to provide a voice for the voluntary youth sector.

To encourage and facilitate a wide, diverse membership
To identify and represent the views of young people
To develop, maintain & improve our services to members
To act as a powerful force on behalf of voluntary youth organisations
To enable young people to participate in decision making

MKCVYS is the umbrella organisation for the voluntary youth sector in Milton Keynes. This includes small youth groups – clubs, sports and arts groups, and uniformed groups run entirely by volunteers, and also a network of larger voluntary |
ChYPPS @ MKCVYS
MKCVYS has been re-positioning the organisation strategically over the last 6 months and has taken on responsibility for the ChYPPS network – Children & Young Peoples Partnership – of voluntary organisations working with young people & children. The network provides a consultation conduit between the sector and the developing Children’s Trust within MK Council & the PCT.
Services offered to ChYPPS member groups include:
- a quarterly Newsletter which goes to the whole MKCVYS membership
- regular email bulletins on items of information, awards, funding opportunities, policy updates etc.
- support advice & training
- 3 – 4 networking meetings a year with speakers
- the priority use of a minibus
- up to date information on Government policy and the Children’s Trust in MK including summaries of national papers & strategies
- the opportunity to influence policy & planning through the ChYPPS Planning Group
It costs just £15 a year for a ChYPPS organisation to join

Clubs @ MKCVYS
MKCVYS supports & develops work with smaller voluntary youth groups – youth clubs, scouts & guides, sports & arts groups and a variety of faith groups.
Services offered to CLUBS member groups include:
- a quarterly Newsletter
- support & advice with setting up youth groups
- help with writing policies
- help with applying for funding
- strategies for involving young people
- the opportunity to apply for small grants
- training days for volunteers & young people
- the priority use of a minibus
It only costs £7.50 a year to join Clubs @ MKCVYS –
